If you really want all the technical, nitty-gritty details, you're going to have to call Tom, and you better
block off some serious time on your calendar for that call. Tom likes to talk, and he likes all
that techie computer geek stuff, and you guessed it, he possesses a wealth of knowledge.
For those of you who don't need quite so much information...Patti's cameras are BLACK :).
100% digital since 2001, Patti shoots only RAW files, because RAW is the same as a negative - the original, giving greater control of the image. You can probably imagine how Patti would feel about sacrificing image quality. Not good. Not good at all.
Tom is the print expert responsible for bringing Patti's visions to life on paper or metal, or glass, or whatever medium resonates with each image.
Tom and Patti really do welcome your questions and curiosity about their equipment and processes,
but keep in mind, the tools of the trade are only a small part of the process, and each
photographer brings something unique to the table.
Color photography pioneer Ernest Haas put it perfectly, The camera doesn't make a bit of difference. All of them can record what you are seeing. But you have to SEE... The camera only facilitates the taking. The photographer must do the giving in order to transcend and transform ordinary reality. And Patti does just that.
